I’ve always wanted to do a show-and-tell, while working on a project, so while I was making this beautiful Spring Baby Blanket, I tried to remember to slow down and take a few pictures as I went along, so you could see how it all comes together.

I crocheted the white background in double crochet stitch with white baby yarn & green strips, and then edged the blanket in green.

These are the colors remaining to finish the blanket.

First, I made all the leaves leaving yarn tails for sewing in place later.

Next, I made all the segments for the inch worms.

Then, I made all the cute little lady bugs, first the bodies, then the eyes and the spots.

And Lastly, I made the big colorful flowers.<Photobucket

Finally, I sewed each of the flowers to the top of each green strip (stems). The sections of the inch worm were sewn together, overlapping each section and the eyes and a smile were added. I sewed all the leaves in place and added the lady bugs and inchworms….and voila….here is the blanket all put together!

  9. Oh my goodness! At first when I was reading along, I thought hmmm….kind of plain with those green stripes, but to each his own…then with each step it was more and more exciting. It is truly one of the most beautiful blankets I have ever seen in my life. Do you have an Etsy shop? Never mind…I just checked to see that you do. Gorgeous. Absolutely fun and sweet and the colors I love. Such amazing work!

  10. I was wondering if you would be willing to sell the pattern for this blanket. I am a crocheter and I would love to make this!
