In our crochet group within Etsy, we were asked which song most represents our life. One song came to mind immediately for me…probably sung by others but the version I am referring to is by Josh Groban…
I went through a difficult time 12 years ago as some of you know, being diagnosed with breast cancer and going through a separation and divorce at the same time. It was so hard, my family and friends were there for me, along with their loving support, God got me through it. My motto during that difficult time was “footprints in the sand” and I have a couple of plaques and a necklace with that imprinted on it. As the story goes, the ‘person’ asks God why when he went through the most difficult times in his life did God abandon him, because there is only one set of footprints, and God answers, “That’s when I carried you”. And that is exactly how I felt, looking back over that time in my life. This song says it all, He raised me up and made me more than I could be. I hope you can click on the link and it will take you to hear not only this beautiful song, but the awesome voice of Josh Groban.
I know this song well and have relied on it to help me through some tough times. Your story has touched me and I will pray for you!
Julie, you’ve gotten so strong and become the person you are today because of all you have gone through. Here’s hoping that song carries you to the other side and life will be smooth sailing from now on!!
I love this song…especially sung by Josh Groban! Such an amazingly beautiful voice singing the most touching words, you can’t get much better than that! You have a very special story of strength and how God helped you through it all. Thank you for sharing this Julie!!
I love this song. I am so glad to hear that you found strength in your faith at such a hard time.
Juli, I too, have had that feeling when I knew God was carrying me, or at least making my way smoother in ways I hadn’t even imagined He would. Beautiful song.
What a hard time to go through. You are a strong woman! My husband’s friend’s wife was just diagnosed with breat cancer. I hope she makes it through as beautifully as you have.
Julie, I know you’re a very strong lady to go through the experiences you shared with me. I really salute you and I simply know why you chose this song. It touched me so much, I had goosebumps all over. I pray you always stay this strong, no matter what happens in life.
What a beautiful inspiration. When we were going through our rough period and the kids were younger, my daughter, Kelly kept a copy of the “Footprints” poem above her bed – she still carries a small card with her of “Footprints” it really helped guide her through a lot. Thanks for sharing. You are always an inspiration to us, Julie!
